In 1988, in his 718th career game, Wayne Gretzky scored his 600th career goal to become just the third NHL player to accumulate more than 600 goals and more than 900 assists and only the fifth player with 600 goals. He also added five assists for a six-point night as the Kings won 8-3, at Detroit.
