In 1981, Edmonton's Wayne Gretzky broke Phil Esposito's NHL record for most points in a season (152) with three assists in a 4-2 Oilers' win at Detroit.

1983, Wayne Gretzky posted three assists to break his own NHL record for assists in a season at 121. He later finished the year with a new record of 125 assists. Edmonton won 7-4 at Vancouver.

1985, Wayne Gretzky had two assists (in an Oilers 8-7 loss to the Whalers, at Hartford) to break his own NHL record for assists in one season (125) with 127. He later ended the 1984-85 season with a new record of 135 assists.

1999, the New York Rangers Wayne Gretzky scored the final goal of his NHL career. It was his 1,072nd all-time goal, surpassing Gordie Howe as the leading scorer in pro hockey history (20 NHL seasons and one season in WHA) as the Rangers won 3-1 against the visiting New York Islanders.
