In 1989, Wayne Gretzky had a goal and three assists in a 5-4 Kings loss to the Whalers, at Hartford. The four points in that game gave Gretzky 100 points in a season for the 10th straight year (extending his NHL record) and moved him past Marcel Dionne as the NHL's #2 all time leading scorer, with 1,771 points (in 743 games). Dionne had 1,770 points in 1,343 games at the time.
